What does this app allow me to do?
PlayStation Mobile for Android allows you to interact with the menus you’ll be familiar with as a PS4 owner from anywhere with an internet connection. Simply sync the app with your PlayStation Network account on you’re good to go. From stats and trophies to social interaction and community events, you can do it all right from your phone. This includes access to the PlayStation store, which is a great idea.
Is it only used for away-from-access?
Not at all. One clever feature is the use of your device as a second screen when on your PS4, allowing to - for example - use your touchscreen for on-screen navigation, its keyboard for typing, etc. The only gripe here is a few compatibility issues with touch gestures and the lack of games using the second screen functionality.
